Work by Carl Larsson (Sweden, 1853-1919) This watercolor depicts Kersti, the youngest daughter of the Larssons, then 17 years old. It belongs to the series of drawings in the album Ett Hem (A Home), which, like this one, chronicles the Larsson family life in Sundborn, in the heart of Sweden. These drawings, with their luminous palette and sinuous lines, in the Art Nouveau style, brought the artist resounding success upon their publication in Germany in 1909 under the title The House in the Sun.
